Discussing Setting




    For part three of activity three we had to discuss the setting in which the movie was taken place. We needed to find of the place, time period, culture, economics, mood, message, and genre. The movie that me and my teammates chose was a horror movie. We took scenes from the movie and analyzed it. This further our understanding of how a movie's components create a theme and tone based on the elements of setting.

Camera Angles      Camera angles is the placement of the camera, that makes the angles how it is. The cinematographer does this to make dimension and dynamic in the film so that it isn't just one flat angle, this allows for emotion to be  conveyed  through the camera. For example, low angle shows dominance and power in the film whereas high angle (the polar opposite) shows submission and weakness.
