Preliminary Exercise: (setting, acting, costume, hair, and makeup) Part 1

Important Information

For this part of activity three we had to tell the general information of the movie. What the movie is, genre of the movie, who is the screen writer, director, what is the production company, the release date of the movie etc. Every movie like the back of the of a book needs a summary and tagline. A summary is a general description of what something is about, and a tag line is a saying that will show up in the book or movie. Everything that is put out into the world has a specific audience that it is targeted to.

Introduction to Storyboarding: Camera Angles

Camera Angles      Camera angles is the placement of the camera, that makes the angles how it is. The cinematographer does this to make dimension and dynamic in the film so that it isn't just one flat angle, this allows for emotion to be  conveyed  through the camera. For example, low angle shows dominance and power in the film whereas high angle (the polar opposite) shows submission and weakness.

My Camera Work: Camera Composition

Camera Composition Camera Composition is how the cinematographer choses to arrange certain elements in the frame of photos or films, whether it is a character in the or item. This adds dimension and further improves the media. The leading lines shot enhances what they are leading to. In this example the lines are leading to a dark shadow at the end of the hallway, making this shot mysterious. Deep focus is the focus on one this while something else is blurred. This example blurs the surrounding things and the sky is the main focus.

Creative Critical Reflection

Through this process, the critical reflection was made to show out progress and understanding of media studies and everything that went along with it. The critical reflection showed my understanding of camera work like shot sizes, camera angles, camera composition, and camera framing, as well as camera movement. It showed my progress of learning mise en scene with colors, lighting, and anything to pertaining the process of the movie.      My critical reflection showed my creative side and the theme of the movie with the colors and the style of it. I wanted to show the process of the creation of my movie plus everything that could happen if it could possibly be released. Throughout the critical reflection I was able to think back on all the things that got me there and the process was great and the education that I got.
