Pre-Production: Planning Document PT2

This part of the planning document was to plan out the film opening. This showed the cast's roles, demographics, etc. All the important information that needed to be done to make the opening of the film was there for the film opening. The film pitch was more about all the pre-production of the film opening and the planning for how we should film it. It expressed all our ideas and creativity. This is the part of the planning where I was more in charge of because it was my idea at first before we had to change a couple things around.

Pre-Production: Planning Document PT1

This part of the planning phase was just a base line of everything that was supposed happen for the film opening.  The first picture shows the idea that we wanted for out logo (NightTime productions). It was a group effort that we chose this design to do and we were very happy with the results.       The second picture shows the general information of the film like the title , genre, rating, etc. that everyone would need to know before watching it and sharing it. Next would be the audience that would watch the movie. Since our movie is made up of mostly teenagers, the movie would be for teens but it also adults in it so it could also be for adults too.     The last picture is it show the cast for the film opening and who was the film crew. It shows everyone's  description of what people did and title.

Preliminary Exercise : Sound In Film

The sound in film is what makes it interesting to the audience and what captivates them. it is very important to have the sound in movie match up the genre and what is going on in the scene to make the audience understand what is going on and be more interested in the movie.      Also in film, you can hear sound effects. In action movies you hear things blowing up gun shots, car crashes, or any loud sound that would make the action movie more exciting. Or in high school movie all the sounds of people talking are usually sound effects to make the room sound full and lively.

Preliminary Exercise : Sound

Our movie is about a girl that wanted to be heard, believed, and was paranoid and with that we needed to convey that with the film opening music. The music would most likely be really intense to set the mood for it and it would have some sound effects that would show how we wanted people to hear what she was hearing. there could also be a voice over to hear internal conflict for this character and dialogue from other characters that go against her.

My Camera Work: Camera Composition

Camera Composition Camera Composition is how the cinematographer choses to arrange certain elements in the frame of photos or films, whether it is a character in the or item. This adds dimension and further improves the media. The leading lines shot enhances what they are leading to. In this example the lines are leading to a dark shadow at the end of the hallway, making this shot mysterious. Deep focus is the focus on one this while something else is blurred. This example blurs the surrounding things and the sky is the main focus.

My Camera Work: Camera Framing

Camera Framing      Camera framing is the placement in which how many characters are in your shot. The position in which you put the camera will allow for a clearer view of what is happening, and the framed objects could look more aesthetically pleasing.          "Point of view" is the viewpoint of the character and what they are seeing at that moment. This gives a more personal feel to the film and provides clarity. An insert shot is the shot that shows a specific item or key detail in the film. It shows the importance and usually comes back later in the film.

My Camera Work: Camera Angles

Camera Angles      Camera angles is the way the cinematographer moves and places the camera to take a shot. This act gives the film more dimension, creates a different experience in each shot, and provides the emotions needed for that certain shot.         These two angles (high angle and low angle) usually go hand and hand with one another. The low angle here is a bully kicking a girl on the ground. This shows that the bully is a dominant force and aggressor in this scene. The high angle is the bully's eyesight, kicking the girl. This shows the weakness of the girl and conveys a sense of submission or weakness.

My Camera Work: Shot Sizes

Shot Sizes      When it comes to movies, shot sizes play a big part of mostly setting the scene for the film. There are 8 different shot sizes ranging from the farthest (establishing shot) and closest (extreme close up.) Most of these shots gives context in the film and further increases the quality of it rather than all the shots being the same size.      These two examples are the farthest and closest shots in a film. The establishing shot is the shot that shows the setting of the scene as well as gives context. Some movies even go as far as put a heading that will tell where it takes place. The other example is the extreme close up shot the gives emphasis on what is being shown in the film.
